In India, a lot of people are using a tons of data every day, especially with their exiting daily data packs offered by a number of telecom service providers. Most of the people switch to add-on plans when they run out of the daily limit.

According to the latest Nokia MBiT Index Report, the average person used 24.1 GB of data each month in 2023.

Given this high demand for data, Airtel and Jio, offer data loan plans. Here's how you can get them easily:

Steps to get data from Jio

Jio used to offer emergency data vouchers for prepaid users. However, it is not available anymore.

Despite this, you can still get free data through the MyJio app with a simple trick. Just follow these steps:

  1. Open the MyJio app.
  2. Click on "Play&Win."
  3. Choose any offer banner and answer simple questions to win data vouchers of up to 6 GB for free.
  4. Note that you will need to enter details like your name, phone number, and email ID, which may be shared with partners. Many games on MyJio currently offer free 4G data vouchers.

Data Loan from Airtel

Unlike Jio, Airtel still offers data loans for both 2G and 4G users. You can either call '52141' or dial '5673#' to get a data loan of 1 GB. Here's what you need to know:

  1. This service is only available for customers who have been with Airtel for at least three months.
  2. The 1 GB data comes with a validity of two days and cannot be carried forward.
  3. When you recharge your number with a new data pack, Airtel will deduct 1 GB from that. You won’t be able to take an additional data loan until you clear the outstanding one.

These are some basic tips from telecoms on how to get free data when you need it but cannot recharge your number.
