Holi, the vibrant festival eagerly awaited by people across India, brings joy and colour to celebrations.

Amidst the festivities, several people encounter a common issue of smartphones getting wet, leading to malfunctions.

Here are five essential tips to handle such a situation effectively:

Quick Retrieval: Immediately remove your phone from the water. If it is off, refrain from turning it on. For older models, swiftly detach the battery and place the phone in sunlight to aid drying.

Gentle Handling: Avoid vigorous shaking, which can drive water deeper into the device. Use a soft towel to gently wipe the outer surface and avoid the use of a hairdryer as excessive heat may cause further damage. Let the water dry naturally.

Rice Absorption: To expedite drying, place the phone in a bag of uncooked rice for at least six hours. Rice possesses moisture-absorbing properties. Exercise caution while placing the phone in rice to prevent small particles from entering the headphone jack or charging ports.

Avoid Charging: Never attempt to charge a wet phone, as this can lead to electrical hazards. If possible, seek assistance from a smartphone repair specialist to properly dry the device.

Protective Measures: If using your phone during Holi, safeguard it in an airtight ziplock bag to prevent water exposure. This allows you to capture photos and videos safely while enjoying the festivities.

By following these tips, you can effectively handle the situation if water gets inside your smartphone during Holi or any other water-related mishap.
