If you are a salaried employee, you may have noticed that a portion of your salary is automatically deducted every month towards your provident fund (PF).

This fund is accumulated in your Universal Account Number (UAN), which is a unique identification number assigned to every employee who contributes to the PF.

However, many employees are unaware of their UAN number, which can lead to difficulties in tracking their PF balance.

Here’s the process of checking your UAN number. It's a simple process that can be done online in just a few minutes.

Step 1: Access the EPFO website

The first step is to access the Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) website. To do this, simply go to Google and search for "EPF m Sewa." This will take you to the EPFO website's first page.

Step 2: Locate "Know Your UAN" option

Once you are on the EPFO website, scroll down the page until you see the "Know Your UAN" option. Click on this option, then a new page will open.

Step 3: Enter Your Mobile Number and Captcha Code

On the new page, you will be prompted to enter your mobile number and captcha code. Enter these details and click on "Request OTP." You will receive an OTP (One Time Password) on your mobile number.

Step 4: Validate the OTP and Fill in Your Details

Once you receive the OTP, enter it in the space provided and click on "Validate OTP and Get UAN." A new tab will open, and you will be asked to fill in your personal details, including your name, date of birth (DOB), and Aadhaar card number.

Step 5: Submit Your Details and Get Your UAN

After filling in your details, click on "Get Authorization Pin." An authorization pin will be sent to your mobile number. Enter this pin in the space provided, and click on "Submit."

If you have entered the correct details, your UAN will be displayed on the screen.
