Losing a phone is an unpleasant experience, especially when it contains vital information like photos, documents, UPI accounts, and WhatsApp chats.

However, you can recover your data, even WhatsApp chats, if you follow the right steps.

Here's step by step guide to recover your WhatsApp chat.

  1. The first thing you should do when your phone is stolen is to request your mobile network provider to block your SIM card. Locking your SIM card is important for retrieving your WhatsApp chats since the app requires SMS verification to verify your account on the new phone.
  2. After blocking your SIM card, ask your network provider to provide you with a new SIM card with the same phone number.
