Many people get frustrated with the increasing number of spam calls they receive daily.

Blocking these calls becomes challenging because new numbers keep popping up.

For Android users, there is a solution using the Google Phone app, which includes a useful feature for spam blocking.

This app identifies junk calls and stops them before they reach your phone.

Here’s how you can activate spam call filtering on your Android smartphone:

Install the Google Phone App

First, download and install the "Phone by Google" app from the Play Store.

Set as Default Dialer

Open the app and follow the prompts to set it as your default dialer.

Tap "Set as default," choose the "Phone" app with the blue icon, and confirm your choice.

Enable Caller ID & Spam Block

After setting it as default, open the app again. Tap the three-dot menu on the main screen, go to Settings, and select "Caller ID & spam."

Ensure that all options are turned on to enable spam blocking and verified calling features.

Update Default Caller ID & Spam App

To complete the setup, update the default app the system uses for caller ID and spam capabilities.

The location of this setting can vary by manufacturer, so you may need to search for "Default apps" in your system settings. If not already set, choose the "Phone" app icon.

By following these steps, you can effectively reduce spam calls on your Android smartphone.
