India is a rapidly growing country in technology. Though tech equipment prices are a bit high, there's good news.

Qualcomm, a semiconductor company, is making strides in India.

Savi Soin, the President of Qualcomm India, is paving the way for the next wave of smartphone users.

They are introducing a new 5G chipset designed specifically for affordable smartphones, aiming to reach even those who are budget-conscious.

These smartphones will be priced at under Rs. 10,000 in 2024, making high-speed technology more accessible to the masses.

Traditionally, Qualcomm's focus has been on flagship or mid-range devices.

However, they are now shifting gears to cater to the entry-level market, according to reports from Trak.in.

During the Mobile World Congress 2024, Qualcomm made a significant announcement: they plan to launch a 5G smartphone priced below Rs 10,000 by the end of the year.

They are collaborating with telecom companies and manufacturers in India to bring this affordable 5G device to life.

President Savi Soin emphasised Qualcomm's partnerships with ecosystem players like Jio and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). These collaborations are crucial for the success of the affordable 5G device.

Qualcomm believes it will also drive innovation and economic growth in the region, expanding opportunities for everyone.
