Star batsman Virat Kohli has been the best performer for Team India for the last 15 years. He is expected to break almost all the records in international cricket in coming days.

In the recently concluded ICC ODI World Cup 2023, Kohli’s performance was also brilliant. He garnered the highest individual total of 765 runs including three centuries in the mega event.

However, as per reports, Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) is not sure about Kohli’s spot in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, which is scheduled for June next year.

As per sources, BCCI is considering explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan at the crucial No.1 spot where Kohli generally bats. The team management wants someone to play aggressive cricket at the No.1 spot and Kishan is best suited for the job.

However, Kohli can still be considered in the spot following a top performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

On the other hand, skipper Rohit Sharma may remain as the skipper of the Men in Blue for T20 World Cup 2024. Speculations were rife that Rohit will only play in the longest format of the game after he asked for a break for the whiteball cricket after the World Cup heartbreak. However, as per sources, BCCI has requested Rohit to remain as the captain of the team for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
