India on Thursday kickstarted their T20 World Cup 2024 preparations with a resounding six-wicket win over Afghanistan in the first T20I of the three-match series. Under the captaincy of Hitman Rohit Sharma, the Men in Blue gave a memorable tribute with the win to coach Rahul Dravid on his 51st birthday.

However, Rohit Sharma had a very bad start to the series after a horrible mix-up with Shubman Gill forced him to depart for 0. All the eyes were on the Hitman after he and Virat Kohli were included in the T20I series.

However, Rohit’s stay at the crease was shortened after the horrible mix-up with Shubman Gill. In a shocking turn of events, Rohit Sharma was run out on 0 on the second ball of the first over. A furious Rohit Sharma then blasted Shubman after the dismissal.

Rohit who was opening drove the ball to the mid-off and called Gill for a single. However, instead of taking the run, Gill was watching the ball. By then, Rohit had run to the other end. Afghanistan fielders made no mistake and ran Rohit Sharma out.

However, India all-rounder Shivam Dube showcased his versatility and stole the spotlight with his batting skills. Dube truly shone, anchoring the innings with a career-best 60 runs, guiding India to victory with 15 balls to spare.
