Former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri feels that star all-rounder Hardik Pandya will not be able to cope with Test cricket anymore after his injury.

As per former all-rounder Shastri, Pandya should focus more on white-ball cricket now.

Pandya showed brilliant leadership skills for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Shastri believes that he should become the white-ball captain for India after the ODI World Cup 2023.

As per Shastri, Rohit should be captain for the World Cup 2023. However, Pandya should take the captaincy mantle from him once the tournament is over.

“Let’s be very clear. Hardik cannot cope with Test cricket any more. After the World Cup, I feel he should take over captaincy in white-ball cricket. Rohit should lead India in the World Cup, no question there,” said Shastri.

Moreover, Shastri supported the inclusion of Sanju Samson in the ODI. As per Shastri, Sanju is yet to realize his potential at the international level, and it would be a disappointment if the same were not to happen.

“Sanju is a match-winner. There is something that is missing. I will be disappointed if he does not finish his career with all guns blazing,” said Shastri.
