Prithvi Shaw
When talented swashbuckling batsman Prithvi Shaw burst into the scene, he was being labelled as the next big thing in Indian cricket. Several experts and fans even went to the extent of drawing parallels of Shaw with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.
However, after showing an initial spark, things did not take shape for the aggressive right-handed opener. He was dropped from the side in 2021 and was gradually pushed into oblivion. He has not played a single game for the Men in Blue since then.
The flamboyant batter and Team India discard has now broken his silence on his ouster from the Indian side. As per the explosive batter, he did not know the exact reason why he was dropped from the national side.
“When I was dropped from the Indian team, I did not get to know the reason. Someone was saying it could be due to fitness issues. But I cleared all the tests at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, again scored runs and again came back to the T20I side. But again, did not get a chance for the West Indies tour,” said a disappointed Shaw during an interview.
“All my hard work is just to play in the national team. I want to play at least 12-14 years for India and win the World Cup for the side. That is one of my big goals and I need to achieve that in my life. I need to work hard and score runs. That is the only way to get there. I am trying my best and let’s see what happens,” he added.
