Hosts India played their fourth match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 against Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Unfortunately, star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya picked up an injury during the ninth over. After Hardik’s condition was assessed by the physio, he was forced to leave the ground. Subsequently, star batsman Virat Kohli stepped in to bowl the remaining three deliveries much to the delight of the fans. 

Fans were really happy to watch their favourite batsman in his rare bowling avtar. Kohli’s bowling video has reportedly gone viral over various social media platforms.

Kohli last bowled a delivery in ODIs against Sri Lanka on August 31, 2017. In that game, he bowled just two overs and conceded 12 runs.

In ODI World Cups, Kohli bowled one over against Australia in the 2015 semifinals and conceded seven runs in that over.

Overall, Kohli has taken eight wickets across formats in the 161.5 overs he has bowled in international cricket so far.
