Mumbai Indians' poor form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) continued. The Hardik Pandya led side has won just three matches out of eleven and is on the brink of elimination.

With MI all but out of contention in the race for playoffs, former India opener Wasim Jaffer had a suggestion for the team management. With the T20 World Cup approaching in less than a month's time, Jaffer asked the side to rest Jasprit Bumrah once the qualification chances become mathematically impossible.

"After one match, if it is confirmed that they can't proceed to the playoffs, resting Bumrah will actually be better for India's chances in the upcoming T20 World Cup," said Jaffer.

Notably, Bumrah remains key to India's chances at the marquee event. The unorthodox pacer will spearhead India's bowling attack. Bumrah is currently the highest wicket-taker in IPL 2024 with 17 dismissals in 11 matches.
