Team India has put up a dominating display in the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023 to win all of their eight league matches so far and occupy the top position in the points table.

As per several experts, it has a lot to do with Rohit Sharma adapting brilliantly to his dual role of team captain and opener. Rohit has made 443 runs from eight matches at a strike-rate of 122 so far with his explosive batting as an opener. Moreover, his shrewd captaincy has also baffled the opposition teams.

Team India coach Rahul Dravid hailed Rohit for his batting and captaincy.

“Rohit has certainly been a fantastic leader. I think he has led by example both on and off the field. There have been some games where it could have been tricky for us, but the fact that he has been able to get us to those kinds of starts has literally cracked open the game,” said Dravid during the pre-match press conference on the eve of India’s final league match against the Netherlands.

“There have been some games where it could have been tricky for us, but the fact that he has been able to get us to those kinds of starts has literally cracked open the game. It’s actually has made it look easy for us and certainly made it easier for the guys who followed in that batting department,” he added.
