A football fan’s seven-year-old tweet predicting that Lionel Messi will lift the FIFA World Cup with Argentina on December 18, 2022 has taken social media by storm.

The tweet reads, “December 18, 2022. 34 year old Leo Messi will win the World Cup and become the greatest player of all times. Check back with me in 7 years.”

The tweet posted by a fan 2josepolanco10 on March 21, 2015 is now going viral. Call it a coincidence or a bang-on prediction, Argentina will actually be playing the big final against France and Messi is also there in the game.

Fans are overwhelmed that his prediction may actually come true. Messi who is playing his fifth and final World Cup, is hoping to lead Argentina to a first title since Maradona-inspired victory in Mexico in 1986.

Although, he has featured in five World Cup finals, he hasn’t been able to win the world cup in any of the occasions. Messi and his fans are hoping to change the course of history, but it isn’t going to be that easy as the prolific Mbappe and his France team stand in way.

Meanwhile, excited Messi fans from Lakshadweep have installed a cutout of the great footballer 100 feet under the Arabian Sea. The video was shared on Instagram by a user identified as Swadikh.

In the video, we can see Swadikh with his friends, all wearing Argentina jerseys, put the huge cutout amidst coral reefs. Swadikh is a huge fan of Messi and had even organised a biryani feast for his friends at mid-sea after Argentina trounced Croatia in the semi-finals to play the finals at Qatar.

The finals of the FIFA World Cup between Argentina and France is going to be a special match for all Lionel Messi fans as this is going to be his last game for the country.

The star footballer has indeed confirmed that the final match on December 18 will be his last game.

“I feel very happy to be able to achieve this, to finish my World Cup journey by playing my last game in a final," Messi reportedly told Argentine media outlet Diario Deportivo Ole.
