After helping Chennai Super Kings (CSK) win their 5th IPL title in 2023, MS Dhoni went for a knee surgery which raised several questions among his fans about his possible retirement from IPL as CSK skipper. But CSK retained MS recently and put all speculations to rest. However, will he be available to play for the team?

Amid the long wait of fans to see their icon player in the CSK colours, Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan has made some important revelations about the availability of the veteran leader.

"If our leader has given a word, he has never gone back. He already told what he was planning to do in that interview. I am sure that knowing MS, he will always do what he has committed to do. He is quite fit. Thalaivan is thalaivan (our leader is our leader)," he said in a video shared by CSK on X (Twitter).

Earlier during an interview, MS Dhoni had shared his thoughts about his recovery process from knee surgery while hinting at his possible return to IPL 2024.

“I have survived the Knee operation successfully, going through the rehab patch, the doctor told me you would feel much better by November. A lot depends on the body, I have 6-7 months to decide. It will be more like a gift from my side, it's not easy for me but that's a gift. The way they've shown their love and affection, I think that's something I need to do for them,” MS had said.

Being the quintessential leader that he is, Dhoni always used to guide his bowlers and ensure they give 100 percent and become big players for their team. With no big names in the bowling unit in IPL 2023, he went on to lift the trophy which only champion players can do.

MS Dhoni is considered one of the most accomplished captains in IPL history.
