Mumbai Indians (MI) 360 degree swashbuckling batsman Suryakumar Yadav has overcome his loss of form. The top-ranked T20I batter has regained his form in the league stage of IPL 2023.
As per legendry batsman Sunil Gavaskar, Suryakumar’s form will be crucial for MI in the playoffs. However, the former India captain said that Surya needs to plan his game better on slow and turning pitches.
“Suryakumar Yadav is outstanding. Look at the big stride he takes when it comes to playing such agricultural shots. However, he needs to plan his game better on slow and turning pitches. He is going to be crucial for Mumbai Indians in the Playoff games. Remember, the first couple of Playoff games are going to be played on a slow Chennai track,” said Gavaskar.
Suryakumar has currently picked up great form. He has amassed a total of 511 runs in 14 games in IPL 13 so far.
Meanwhile, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh heaped praise on veteran Piyush Chawla for leading the spin attack of Mumbai Indians this season.
“Chawla’s wicket-taking software is amazing. This guy is awesome. He has troubled the batters of every team with his spin. I am very happy for this player. In the last season, he was not even considered useful by any team. However, he has proved this time that there is no substitute for experience. There is no match for this player,” Bhajji said.
