Star India and RCB batsman Virat Kohli's statement that 'he wants to visit Pakistan' has gone viral over various social media platforms. Pakistani fans have also welcomed Kohli's words.

Meanwhile, former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has also responded to Kohli's statement.

"Virat Kohli’s statement showed that such cricketers are the ambassadors of their country. I had expected the same kind of statement from Virat Kohli. Thank you so much, Virat. We are waiting for you to come to Pakistan and play in PSL or with the Indian team. It would be good if you came with the Indian team," said Afridi.

Earlier, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma had also expressed his interest in playing a Test series against Pakistan.

Notably, the bilateral cricket relations between the two countries have been suspended for years due to political activities and terror incidents.

Afridi has been requesting the Indian government to allow their cricket team to play in Pakistan for a long time.

India and Pakistan only lock horns in ICC tournaments. The arch-rivals will fight against each other in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
