Team India’s aggressive wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan has been in the news off late for all the wrong reasons.

As per reports, Ishan was upset as swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma was selected ahead of him in the Indian T20 team. Moreover, he also defied head coach Rahul Dravid’s advice to play domestic cricket.

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has hit out at Ishan Kishan for skipping Ranji Trophy games despite being fit. Ishan is practising with the Pandya brothers at Kiran More Academy in Baroda. However, he hasn’t given any information about his whereabouts to Jharkhand Cricket Association.

“Finding it perplexing how someone can be fit enough to practice but not play domestic cricket. How does this even make sense?” wrote Irfan on his social media account X (earlier known as Twitter).

Team India head coach Rahul Dravid has stated twice that the wicket-keeper must make himself available and play matches before returning to the national side.

As per several reports, Ishan is in a tussle with the current Team India management after his mental fatigue break was taken incorrectly. He left the South Africa tour midway but was seen partying with MS Dhoni and attending a quiz show. This was not taken sportingly by the officials of the BCCI.
