After a long injury lay-off, India’s premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah returned to the Indian team in the recently-concluded Ireland T20I series. The speedster was appointed the skipper of the Indian team for the 3-match series which the Men in Blue won 2-0 with ease as the last match was washed out due to rain. Bumrah’s selection in the Indian team for the Asia Cup will bolster the bowling line up of the Men in Blue.

Fans and experts across the globe will be keenly watching Bumrah’s progress in the mega event as he is going to be a triumph card for India in the upcoming World Cup. However, Team India head coach Rahul Dravid has hinted that Bumrah will be slowed and eased into full action.

“It’s great to have Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna back and see them bowling well. Jasprit is someone we have missed a lot in the past two years he has not played much. We will ease him into it slowly,” said Dravid.

“Ireland was a good opportunity to ease him in. Now we have a whole month to build that up before the World Cup. The duo’s return gives us more options in the pace bowling department,” the former great added.
