‘You have nothing to worry about, he’s always with me’: MS Dhoni meets Matheesha Pathirana’s family, picture goes viral

Amid the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Captain Cool MS Dhoni met Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sri Lanka star bowler Matheesha Pathirana’s family in Chennai on Thursday.

The 41-year-old former India skipper assured the speedster’s family members that they need not have to worry about the young pacer as he is in ‘safe hands’.

Dhoni met with them at Leela Palace Hotel, where CSK team players are staying. “You have nothing to worry about, he’s always with me,” Dhoni said.

Pathirana’s sister, Vishuka Pathirana shared the pictures of the meeting on her Instagram handle and was overwhelmed after meeting the Indian wicket-keeper batter. Vishuka is also a big fan of Dhoni.

“Now we are sure that malli is in safe hands when thala said “You have nothing to worry about Matheesha, he’s always with me. These moments were even beyond what I had ever dreamt of,” Vishuka posted on Instagram.

Notably, Pathirana has been the find of IPL 2023 as the Sri Lanka pacer has emerged as arguably the best young fast-bowler of the season. The 20-yeear-old pacer has played a great role in helping CSK enter the final. Dubbed as ‘Baby Malinga’, Pathirana has so far scalped 17 wickets in 11 matches in IPL 2023.
