The wait for the 17th edition of the IPL finally ended on Friday with the clash between MS Dhoni’s CSK and Virat Kohli’s RCB at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) outclassed Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the first game of the IPL 2024.

It was Ruturaj Gaikwad’s first match as the captain of CSK after MS Dhoni stepped down from his role. Star players Mustafizur Rahman and Rachin Ravindra took the charge of CSK and guided Ruturaj’s team to a six wicket win.

Rahman bowled his best-ever spell and took four wickets to restrict RCB to 173/6 in 20 overs. Later, Rachin took over the field with his bat and smashed 3 fours and 3 sixes to score 37 runs in just 15 balls. RCB’s Karn Sharma managed to get Rachin out.

Meanwhile, an elated Virat Kohli could be seen hurling a mouthful at Rachin Ravindra after his wicket. Although we cannot hear what Virat Kohli said, going by his gestures, it is clear he used some bad words. A clip of the same has gone viral on social media, with angry netizens asking him to grow up.

An angry fan wrote, “Play your game, show your sportsmanship. If you cannot, go and get class from Smriti Mandhana on how to behave.”

“Grow up Chiku, this doesn’t suit your age and status,” commented another CSK fan. “Ek toh Chiku vaise hi panauti hai RCB ke liye aur phir yeh gully ka goonda jaisi harkat,” commented a third user.

Another user wrote, “Pakistan ki Harish Rauf ka sasta copy hota jaa raha hai Virat.”

Coming back to Virat Kohli’s game, he struggled for 21 runs off 20 balls with RCB losing the match to CSK once again. CSK has never lost a match to RCB at home since 2008.
