With the 2024 General Elections in mind, the Odisha unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has prepared a road map to put the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in a spot.

As per reports, the leadership of Odisha BJP met on Monday to discuss several issues including power tariff hike, mineral loot, no services under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, Mahanadi water dispute, loot of central schemes, law and order situation and unemployment.

The Working Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday in which the proposals will be passed and a detailed road map for next three months will be made.

The meeting today also saw passing of a vote of thanks for Prime Minister Modi over choosing Draupadi Murmu as NDA’s Presidential candidate and increasing the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of paddy.

Speaking to the reporters, BJP General Secretary Lekhashree Samantsinghar said, “People are spending their nights in darkness, but electricity tariff has been increased manifold in Odisha. The central schemes are being looted by the State government officials and BJD leaders. Everything has been discussed in the meeting.”

While no comments could be obtained from the BJD in this connection following BJP's meeting, but BJD MLA, Sashibhusan Behera earlier on Monday had said that, “As the Opposition they are free to portray their picture as per their liking. But as a party with 23 years of ruling in the State, BJD is ready to answer any question they throw at us.”

It is pertinent to mention here that, the BJP is all set to change the Leader of Opposition in the Odisha Assembly before the next Monsoon Session.
