Thousands of BJP workers on Wednesday took to streets protesting scarcity of drinking water in various parts of the city during summer and blamed poor water management by AAP government for the situation.

The BJP activists led by Delhi party in-charge Baijayant Panda gheraoed the Secretariat and held demonstrations. In a novel protest, the activists raised slogans against the AAP government by showing placards and holding pots and buckets in their hands.

“Drinking water crisis in Delhi has become acute due to poor water management by the Arvind Kejriwal government. Contaminated water is coming out of tube-wells. However, the government is not much concerned,” said Panda.

“The ruling party has come to power with the assurance of providing everything free. However, they have failed to provide good governance to the people. People of Delhi are suffering because of their false assurances,” the senior BJP leader said.

As per the allegations by the BJP activists, Delhi is witnessing frequent power cuts during the scorching summer and as a result the whole city is going through a severe drinking water crisis.

“The drinking water being provided to the city denizens is contaminated causing health hazards. People have expressed their resentments against the misgovernance and poor water management policy by the AAP government,” said Panda.
