Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday criticized the Odisha government over deteriorating law and order in the state.

During a press meet today, Pradhan took a dig at the Odisha government by stating ego like Ravana (Demon King) and Duryodhan (Kaurav) will not sustain for long in democracy.

He further stated that several protesting BJP workers were sent to jail after being booked under IPC section- 307. Even ABVP workers were sent to jail for protesting against anti-nationalists, he added.

Furthermore, he said, such actions were adopted by East India Company and now the Odisha government is doing the same thing.

Targeting the Odisha government, Pradhan said, “You will run short of jail. If you are planning to pull down nationalists and their spirit under your feet with the help of police, and power, I am welcoming it.”

“This is a political protest. We will ensure to reach every house and spread the motive behind protest. Questions are now being raised about the deteriorating law and order situation in the State. You have to respond to the questions asked by the public. If you are planning to choke everyone’s voice by dragging us to court, I would like to say, the ego of Ravana and Duryodhana will not last long in democracy,” Pradhan added.
