A lucky woman just grabbed the best deal of the year with just Rs 270 for buying three abandoned houses in Italy. Yes, you read that right!

Although desi moms are best qualified for bargains, this Californian woman is the ultimate winner. She jumped at the opportunity and grabbed all three houses in Sicily, Italy for just $3.30(which is roughly around 270 Indian rupees).

The woman has been identified as Rubia Daniels, 49.

According to sources, Rubia coincidentally heard about Italy offering abandoned houses for cheap prices in a bid to re-populate far-flung towns in the country.

Speaking to Insider, Rubia said, “I was so amazed. It was one of those things where you have to see it to make sure it’s true. I did my research and within three days I had my plane ticket, a rental car, and the hotel and I left.”

Now, she is the proud owner of the three abandoned houses and is leaving no stone unturned to turn them into beautiful houses with modern amenities.

Even before and during the Covid-19 pandemic, Italy battled a dwindling population. Many towns reportedly sold houses for as little as $1 in an effort to revitalize the area. However, the renovation of these houses would cost around Rs 20-70 lakh.

Rubia now has big plans for all three houses. She wants to set up one house during her visits while she aspires to convert another house into an art gallery and the third house into a wellness center for the community.
