A Herculean task though it may be, a youth from ‘Devbhoomi’ Uttarakhand proved himself tough and walked all the way from his state to reach the Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

The youth identified as Ranbir Singh from Nainital has embarked on a tour to 12 Jyotirlingas, 52 shakti shrines and all the four major religious shrines of Hindus (Chaturdhams) in the country.

After setting out from his house a year ago, he claimed to have covered about 9000 km on foot across Gujarat, UP, MP, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.

“I had darshan of nine Jyotirlingas including Somanath, Ujjain, and Rameswaram. In one year, I have walked 9000 km and reached Odisha. I have to visit 40 more Shakti shrines,” he added.

He said after having the darshan of Lord Lingaraj, he would set out for Vaidyanath and Kedarnath. He is also accompanied by two other youths.

He said,” I want to say that youths should know about their Hindu religion and give up all bad habits.”
