The Odisha visit of BJP National President JP Nadda is seen as a prelude to the crucial elections ahead as the saffron party is trying its best to come to power in the eastern Indian state. During Nadda's visit to Odisha on Tuesday, several leaders of the BJP took the opportunity to slam the ruling BJD government for its alleged misgovernance and rise in crime against women, and corruption in the state.

While addressing a public meeting at Banapur, BJP National Vice-President Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda said, “Time has come for a change in Odisha. India’s image has changed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. If the scenario has to change in Odisha, it will happen the day people decide.”

According to Panda, BJD was formed with the help and direction of the BJP. Till the BJD was working under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, development was clearly visible in Odisha. But it is needless to say what the condition of Odisha has become in the last 10 or 12 years, said Panda.

“Odisha ranks number 1 in crime against women and minor children in the country. The state government is trying its best to hide such incidents and is busy projecting itself as number 1 by only giving advertisements. Those involved in such heinous crimes are holding key positions as ministers here,” said Panda.

According to the BJP VP, Odisha is deprived of development and lakhs of youths from the state are working in several sectors outside as there is no scope for employment.

“If the Dhritarashtra here is not able to provide employment in Odisha to youths, it is certainly a matter of concern,” the BJP National Vice-President said. Panda also stated that several Central government schemes, which have catalyst development in the country, are not being implemented in Odisha including the Ayushman Yojana.

“The people of Odisha are deprived of such benefits and the only reason is politics as the Dhritarashtra is not allowing it. The people of Odisha are now aware who is the Duryodhan near the Dhritarashtra. The people of Odisha are now getting ready to bring a change and BJP is coming with a rigorous force to make it happen,” Panda added.
