Walking on the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival in Germany is a dream of a lifetime for many. Reliving their dreams and bringing laurels for the State, two Odias hit the red carpet at the ongoing 76th Cannes film festival in style.

Internationally acclaimed filmmaker from Odisha, Jitendra Mishra and entrepreneur and a non-resident Odia, Partha Panda, who presently lives in London, made a mark at the international event along with other eminent personalities and celebrities.

Jitendra, who has been a regular participant of the festival promoting Sambalpuri handloom for over a decade now, appeared at the festival in his Sambalpuri attire designed by himself.

Last year also Jitendra had walked the Cannes Red Carpet along with his wife Donna in Sambalpuri attire and distributed Sambalpuri Mask among thousands of global visitors and professionals to promote the handloom.

“I first visited Cannes in 2012. So far, I have been invited to walk on the Red Carpet eight times. This is a proud moment for a film maker. This is one of the biggest recognitions and awards for us,” said Jitendra.

Sharing his experience at the Red Carpet in Cannes, Partha said, “It is like a dream come true for me. I would like to thank Jitendra for recommending my name for the festival. It was an honour for me to share the Red Carpet with eminent personalities across the globe.”
