Fake Police Officer Apprehended In Jeypore

An imposter posing as a police officer was arrested from Koraput’s Jeypore on Thursday The imposter has been identified as Bhagwaan Nath from Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Nath, who wore a police uniform, was initially apprehended by a local journalist while the former was allegedly extorting money from the locals in Sourasahi and Telisahi area of the town. The journalist called the police who subsequently arrested Nath.

Earlier, Bhubaneswar Airfield Police had arrested a person on charges of detaining and thrashing a man by posing as a police officer.

The accused was identified as Ranjan Bhuyan from Kendrapara district and was staying at Sundarpada in Bhubaneswar in a rented accommodation.

As per reports, Bhuyan was working for a web series due to which he managed to procure the police uniform.
