The DNA test report has clarified that there was no child swap at the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar as was alleged by a couple. The DNA report confirmed that there was no child swapping and the concerned couple had a girl child.

Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police Prateek Singh on Thursday said that the DNA samples have matched and the girl child belongs to the couple.

As per reports, the father of the newborn, Pranakrushna Biswal accepted the DNA report and the baby girl as well.

Earlier a couple of days back, the blood samples of the mother and the baby were collected as per court norms in the presence of police. Capital Hospital authorities handed over the collected samples to the police. The samples were sent to the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) for DNA testing.

The parents of the baby girl had filed an affidavit expressing their willingness to give blood samples for DNA matching.

Notably, Pranakrushna Biswal had alleged that his newborn was swapped at Capital Hospital. Biswal had also filed a complaint at the Capital Police Station in this connection.

However, the Capital Hospital authorities had refuted the allegation of child swapping levelled by Biswal, who hails from the Rajkanika area of Kendrapara. Moreover, a female attendant of the capital hospital was suspended for allegedly giving false information to the family while handing over the newborn.
