The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday slammed the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) for asking the Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan to refrain from giving statements on Odisha.

“He who is not aware of the Constitution only repeats the words of his higher-ups,” said BJP leader and son of Biswabhusan Harichandan, Prithviraj Harichandan.

“You have kept three of the four gates of Srimandir closed and are making the devotees suffer. In this regard, all including the President, the Prime Minister, and the Governor have the right to say against the government,” he said.

“Earlier too one or two leaders of their party had said that I have business in Andhra Pradesh and am involved in corruption there. I will quit politics if they prove what they are saying,” he added.

Yesterday while addressing a press meeting, BJD spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP, Sasmit Patra said, “What Chhattisgarh Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan is speaking about Odisha is not acceptable. He should refrain from giving statements on Odisha because it is not expected of him.”
