Whether an Income Certificate will be required or not to receive a voucher of Rs 50,000 under the Subhadra Yojana is not known as yet. So, instead of falling victim to rumours, people should wait till the government’s announcement in this regard, said Deputy Chief Minister and the Minister of Women and Child Development, Mission Shakti and Tourism, Pravati Parida in an exclusive interview with OTV on Friday.

“I would thank the Chief Minister for allocating Rs 10,000 crore for the Subhadra Yojana and increasing the budget for Women and Child Development and Mission Shakti by three times. We are doing what we promised. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Subhadra Yojana on September 17. The process for the preparation of SOP is underway. An application form is making rounds on social media platforms. But, we have not issued any form or notification for Subhadra Yojana,” said the Deputy Chief Minister.

“We will invite feedback from common women, social activists and intellectuals by August 15 on what should be the design of the Subhadra Yojana so that the women can be benefitted, set up their own business units and become lakhpati didis. The SOP will be prepared on the basis of the feedback received. I think Subhadra will be an epoch-making yojana with the blessings of Goddess Subhadra. Women will be powerful at the grassroots level,” she said.

When asked about people, mostly women, making a beeline at block offices and cyber cafes to get Income Certificates and visiting some websites to download forms, she said, “There is no such announcement from the government. On several occasions, I have appealed to people not to be fooled by such things. Whenever the government takes any decision in this regard, there will be advertisements. The government has not issued any form nor opened any website for it. It is yet to be known if an Income Certificate will be required or not. So people should wait till the announcement comes from the government.”

When asked about the number of beneficiaries, she said, “The budget allocation has been made based on the women population in Odisha. If more money is required, our department can have it in a supplementary budget.”

“Things are in the last stage. It can be said they are in drag-on mode. After getting feedback from people and opinions from women, the yojana will be launched,” she added.
