An employee of Bolangir district supply office has brought sexual harassment allegation against Chief Supply Officer (CSO) Mir Raj Ali on Saturday.

According to the complainant, when she joined the workplace Mir Raj demanded Rs 30 lakh from her. When she revealed her inability to pay the bribe, he reduced the amount to Rs 10 lakh. As she declined to agree, he started harassing her both mentally and physically. He started using foul words for the woman employee. The CSO even made her to work for long hours in the night. Besides, he used to call her to his chamber when he was all alone.

Meanwhile, taking the allegations seriously, District Collector has started a probe into the matter.

The complainant said, “He asked Rs 30 lakh bribe from me. He started using derogatory remarks when I declined to give a single penny. He used to make fun of me as I am an unmarried. I have proof of everything. Let the Collector investigate the matter, the truth will be out.”

Refuting the allegations levelled against him, Mir Ali said, “I have never called her to my chamber since she joined office. Whatever I discussed with her it was in the meeting. She is a senior employee but her performance is not up to mark. When I made this statement before others, she took it personally and felt being hurt before juniors.”
