Narasinghpur IIC In Vigilance Net For Taking Rs 20,000 Bribe

As per preliminary reports, the concerned police official had demanded the money from the complainant to arrest the accused persons involved in an SC/ST Act case registered by him at Narsinghapur police station in September 2021.

Narasinghpur IIC In Vigilance Net For Taking Rs 20,000 Bribe

Alekh Gardia, the Inspector-In-Charge of Narsinghpur Police Station in Cuttack district on Monday was apprehended by a team of Odisha Vigilance while accepting bribe of Rs 20,000 from a complainant.

As per preliminary reports, the concerned police official had demanded the money from the complainant to arrest the accused persons involved in an SC/ST Act case registered by him at Narsinghapur police station in September 2021. S

ources said that a 15-member Vigilance team caught the police official while accepting the bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant Naba Kishore Naik.

A case under section 7 of the PC (Amendment) Act 2018 has been registered against the police inspector. Simultaneous searches are being conducted at the official quarters of the accused police inspector at Narsinghpur police station campus and his native village in Bhandarimal in Sambalpur district.
