The Odisha Vigilance officials on Tuesday detected property worth crores of rupees in the possession of an Assistant Civil Supplies Officer (ACSO) in Nuapada district. 

Simultaneous searches were carried out today by six teams of Vigilance comprising six DSPs, 12 inspectors and other officers in as many places associated with Ratnakar Sethy, ACSO at the Civil Supplies office in Nuapada on the allegation of accumulation of disproportionate assets.

The probe agency has so far uneaerthed massive haul of property from Sethy’s residential house at Bali Sahi under Madhupatna police limits in Cuttack, his office room at CSO, Nuapada and rented house at Nuapada.

As per Vigilance sources, the official owns Nataraj Palace Kalyan Mandap at Balisahi, a G+3 building at Chauliaganj, three acre land covered by boundary wall with house at Oranda, Choudwar.

During the search, it was found that the ACSO has paid insurance premium worth over Rs 1.13 crore. Apart from the immovable property, 498 gm gold jewellery and 2.5 kg silver jewellery were detected during the search. 

The Vigilance sleuths, so far, have unearthed properties worth Rs 6.73 crore including a four-storied building at Chauliaganj in Cuttack owned by Sethi.
