It is said and believed too that life is precious, still, we often come across news of people committing suicide. A similar incident came to the fore from Mumbai where a man tried to take his life by lying on railway tracks.

The incident took place near Sewri railway station when a man, in a bid to kill self, walked onto the tracks and laid down after seeing an incoming train.

Luckily, the alert train driver stopped the train by applying emergency brakes. Subsequently, three railway police personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the man.

The Ministry of Railways shared the CCTV footage of the entire incident. People heaped praises on the train driver and also the lady officers who rushed to rescue the man.

Sharing the video, the Railways wrote, “Commendable work done by the motorman: At Shivdi station in Mumbai, the motorman saw a person lying on the track, he saved the life of the person by applying emergency brake with promptness and understanding.”

It further wrote, “Your life is precious, someone is waiting for you at home.”
