Intensifying its action against corrupt officials, Vigilance sleuths on Thursday raided houses of several government officials and unearthed properties worth crores disproportionate to their know sources of income.

During house search on Thursday, the sleuths unearthed assets worth over Rs 2.51 crore belonging to Nayagarh Ranapur RD division assistant executive engineer.

Similarly, the anti-corruption wing traced properties worth over Rs 1.3 crore belonging to Subarnapur Collector office section officer during a raid.

Sambalpur Paramanpur RI was held by the sleuths while allegedly taking Rs 15000 bribe. 

 

 

Similarly, RI of Dudhari Circle in Semliguda Tehsil of Koraput district was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting Rs 10000 bribe.

Recently, the Odisha government had ordered compulsory retirement of eight more officers, including three belonging to the Odisha Administrative Services (OAS), on Friday. The State has so far taken action against 130 babus over graft charges and inefficiency.

Ramachandra Jena, former tehsildar and sub-registrar in-charge of Nimapara; OAS Gaurang Charan Mohanty, OAS officer Alphonse Bilung; Bidhan Chandra Sahu, a former superintendent engineer of Baitarani Division of Kendujhar Irrigation Department, and Meena Patra, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) at Vishwanathpur under Lanjigarh block in Kalahandi.

Besides, Puspanchali Rath, the CDPO of ICDS at Thuamul Rampur block in Kalahandi district; Ajjit Kumar Mohapatra, former Deputy Excise Superintendent in Deogarh and a cashier at Tihidi block of Bhadrak district, Prabhakar.
