Angul: In a gruesome incident, a man committed suicide after smashing his wife and 8-year-old son to death in Balihata village of Nuasahi area here, police informed on Monday. The deceased husband has been identified as Ajendra Dalbehera.
The 16-year-old daughter who was too attacked by his father has been admitted to a hospital and her condition is said to be critical.
Dalbehera had then smashed his wife, son and daughter with a hammer. While his wife and son succumbed to their injuries, the daughter was admitted to hospital in a critical condition.
However, it is suspected the trio was poisoned as they were foaming at mouth.
Police have sent the bodies for post mortem and the reason would be clear only after the report comes, police official said.

Police have recovered a suicidal note in which Dalbehera mentioned that his wife was afflicted with an unknown disease and his son was suffering from kidney disease. And he was taking such an extreme step not due to lack of money rather due to unbearable mental tension and pressure, police said.
