The Indian Railways is planning to have an annual process for recruitment of more and more people, said Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

While talking to ANI, the Railway Minister informed that already the recruitment process for 1.5 lakh new employees has been completed.

“After concluding that, we have started a new process for the selection of ALPs,” said Vaishaw.

Vaishnaw further informed that 'this is the first step and there will be more employment opportunities in technical and non-technical popular categories and also in Group D'.

“Instead of bunching everything together, our objective is now to have an annual process so that more and more people can get opportunities,” the Minister added.

Meanwhile, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has started the online application process for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP). As per the notification, the application deadline is February 19. The total number of vacancies under all RRBs which will be filled in this recruitment drive is 5,696.

The recruitment process will completed in five stages: Computer Based Test (CBT 1), (CBT 2), Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination (ME).
