Faridkot(Punjab): A teenaged girl was set ablaze by her jilted lover at Kotsukhila village of the district, police said today. The incident took place yesterday when the youth, identified as Hoshiar Singh, set the girl on fire after pouring kerosene oil.

He was said to be infuriated after family of the girl arranged her marriage in a nearby village, they said. The girl was rushed to a hospital with 80 per cent burn injuries where her condition is said to be serious, they said. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against the absconding youth, they added.
