The legends of Middle Earth are once again set to mesmerize the spectators. Amazon has now lifted the lid on its long-awaited Lord of the Rings prequel series, The Rings of Power.

In a short teaser clip of around one minute, the streaming giant's gargantuan production seemed to promise fans an unseen level experience of breathtaking landscape to otherworldly creatures and epic battle scenes customary to the LOTR movies.

A text on the screen in the 60-second video reads, "Before the king, before the fellowship, before the ring, a new legend begins this fall."

Based in the second age of the fictional universe, the Middle Earth in JRR Tolkien's epic novels, thousands of years before the setting of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings - The Rings of Power is all about how the Rings that we all know all came into existence.

The series will showcase how the main antagonist, Dark Lord Sauron deceives the Elves to help him forge the powerful Rings so that he can spread them across all races of Middle Earth and rule the world through the secret One Ring.

The first part of the series contains an ensemble of familiar characters, like a young Galadriel played by new face Morfydd Clark and Elrond - Robert Aramayo.

The Rings of Power series which is said to be the most expensive TV or web series in history has been created by JD Payne and Patrick McKay. Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, will commence streaming on Amazon Prime Video from September 2, with its new episodes releasing every Friday.
