After basking in worldwide success, SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR will reportedly once again entertain its fans with a sequel.

As per reports, makers of RRR have finally spilled beans on the sequel of the blockbuster film which even bagged an Oscar for Best Original Song Category for 'Naatu Naatu'.

In conversation with Bollywood Hungama, RRR’s co-scriptwriter Vijayendra Prasad, who also happens to be Rajamouli’s father, has revealed that the work on RRR 2’s script is currently underway and the film will be set in Africa.

He was quoted saying, "It’s both a yes and a no,” before adding that after RRR’s release, he shared a sketchy idea of the story’s continuation in Africa with his son SS Rajamouli.

“After the release of RRR, I shared an idea of the sequel where the story continues with Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (NTR Jr) set in Africa,” revealed Prasad.

Jr NTR and Ram Charan will once again be reprising their roles in the second installment of RRR

Prasad also shared that there is a higher possibility of the film having its base on a different story, adding that the upcoming film will focus on the pre-Independence era and will tell the story of Telugu states.

However, it seems RRR fans may have to wait for a little longer as Rajamouli is busy working with Mahesh Babu in SSMB29 after completing the project only he will move to his next project.

“Knowing my son’s temperament he will not pay any attention to the sequel idea till the movie with Mahesh is finished. After that if he likes my script and if both the heroes like the script and if they have the time…,” said Vijayendra Prasad.

SS Rajamouli also earlier confirmed that RRR 2 was in development. In a conversation with India Today, Rajamouli said, “My father is a story writer for all my films. We discussed a bit about RRR 2 and he’s working on the story.
