As expected Kabir Singh fame director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s ‘Animal’ has had a monstrous start at the box office. The first day collection of the Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer has shattered the records of superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and action star Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2.

As per initial data, Animal has collected a whopping Rs 61 crore from all the languages in India. As per industry tracker Sacnilk portal, the Hindi version collected Rs 50 crore, whereas the Telugu version earned Rs 10 crore, the Tamil version earned Rs 40 lakhs, Rs 9 lakhs from Kannada, and Rs 1 lakh from Malayalam.

As far as the worldwide figures are concerned, the movie is expected to collect Rs 100 crore. This makes it the third Bollywood movie to earn Rs 100 crore worldwide on its first day after King Khan’s Pathaan and Jawan.

With Rs 61 crore in its first day, Animal has become Ranbir Kapoor’s career-best opener and broken the records of Pathaan and Gadar 2. While Pathaan had earned Rs 57 crore on its first day, Gadar 2 had amassed Rs 41 crore on its opening day.

Furthermore, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has become one of the biggest pre-sales in the history of Indian films with nearly 5 lakh tickets sold in advance. The footfall is expected to rise during the weekends as the film has got positive response from both audience and critics alike.

Fans are going gaga over Ranbir Kapoor’s performance in the film while versatile actor Bobby Deol is also getting his due although he has a brief role in the film. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor among others in pivotal roles.
