Bollywood’s ace filmmaker Karan Johar is known for his expensive and larger-than-life sets. Be it his debut movie ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ or his last full-length movie ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, KJo prefers shooting his movies in overseas scenic locations. On different occasions, the producer-director multiple times got roasted by others over this matter.

However, the latest update will leave you surprised if you are a fan of KJo and his movies

As per the latest reports, KJo’s upcoming ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi, will be the first film that will be entirely shot in India.

Karan Johar's movies flaunt several international scenic locations. While Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was shot in Scotland and Mauritius, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was shot in the United Kingdom and Egypt. Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and My Name is Khan were shot in the USA and Student of the Year was shot in Bangkok and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was shot in the United Kingdom.

However, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has been entirely shot in India. The film is shot at different locations in Mumbai, Delhi, Unchagaon, Kashmir and Jaisalmer. Apart from his short films in anthologies, KJo has never shot any other film in India prior to Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

The hype around ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ is quite high as KJo is making a comeback as a director of a full-length feature movie after almost 7 years. The movie is scheduled for theatrical release on July 28 and the first teaser dropped on June 20 has gained a lot of traction on social media.

After ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, KJo will start working on his first-ever action film Takht, which has been the director’s ambitious project.
