It has been a long time since the stunning Preity Zinta was last seen on the big screen. Known for movies like ‘Koi Mil Gaya’, ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, ‘Veer Zaara’, ‘Soldier’ and many others, Preity Zinta was one of the most loved actresses in the 90s.
She won the hearts of millions of her fans with her dimples and million-dollar smile. However, the gorgeous beauty shifted her base to the US after her marriage and left the film industry. Fans would love to see her make her comeback on the big screen.
Recently, the actress took to her Instagram handle to issue a super funny clarification regarding her ‘real’ name.
In a clip, Preity Zinta, dressed in a black cowboy neck number says, “Hi everyone. So I’m here because a lot of people keep asking me If Preity Zinta is my real name or if it is Preetam Singh Zinta.”
“So, I just want to make it clear that Preetam Singh Zinta was never my name. I don’t know how it made to Google and how it made to Wikipedia. My real name has always been Preity Zinta. I have added a G to it, G for Good enough, but since it’s too long, one G is good enough for me. So now, I’m Preity G Zinta.”
“I hope that makes it clear. So my name was always Preeti and wherever and whoever has put it out there it was Preetam Singh Zinta I don’t know, it’s just made up. I hope that clears everything. Bye,” she ended.
In her caption she funnily blamed her ‘Soldier’ co-actor Bobby Deol and wrote, “On the sets of Soldier, Bobby Deol called me Preetam Singh as a joke (pls ask him why he chose that name when you meet him). The movie became a blockbuster, our friendship flourished and since then Preetam Singh name has stuck to me…. Bachaao.”
Bobby Deol also replied to Preity’s post and wrote, “Preetam Singh, I gave you this name. It suits you but sorry didn’t realise it would confuse people. I love you, my Preetam Singh.”
