Nawazuddin Siddiqui started trending on Twitter (X) today when a video of the Bajrangi Bhaijan actor went viral on social media. The clip shows Siddiqui staring and standing mum as the Indian National Anthem is being sung. The video left many shocked as they could not understand why the famous Bollywood actor could not join others on the stage in singing the National Anthem.
It seems to be an old video that somehow has resurfaced on social media and has gone viral very fast. The moment this video clip went viral everyone started trolling Nawazuddin Siddiqui asking him the reason why he is not respecting the National Anthem as every Indian citizen should.

The social media users criticised the actor heavily with a few saying, “Shame on you” whereas a few said they earlier liked and respected the actor but after watching him looking disinterested during the National Anthem they have lost all positive feelings towards him. On the other hand, there are a few netizens who have come out in support of Nawaz saying that standing while the National Anthem is being sung is also a way of showing respect and should be enough.
In the past few days, the Talaash actor has been in the limelight because of a defamation suit filed against him by Gullak and Panchayat fame actress Sunita Rajwar years ago. It is a known fact that Nawaz and Sunita were in a relationship earlier during their NSD days and later on parted ways. The story about the defamation suit has been making rounds on the internet for the last few days although it is quite old.
The controversy arose when Nawazuddin mentioned in his memoir that Sunita left him because he was poor. Later on, Nawaz even criticised Sunita’s defamation suit as a publicity stunt but was forced to withdraw his memoir from the market. He was even forced to issue an apology on his official social media account after a lot of uproar.
