Additional tehsildar arrested for duping woman on pretext of marriage in Odisha

Rajgangpur police on Saturday arrested Rupak Kujur, posted as additional tehsildar in Binika, on the charges of duping a woman on the pretext of marriage.

The complainant alleged that she had been in a relationship with Kujur since 2008. Kujur had also developed physical relations with her by promising marriage. However, their relationship turned sour after the complainant learnt that Kujur recently married another woman in court.

The complainant subsequently filed FIR against him at Lanjiberna outpost.

“We have arrested the additional tehsildar based on the complaint filed by the lady. The complainant has accused him of having physical relationship with her for the last several years by promising the woman to marry her,” said Rajgangpur SDPO, Sashank Sekhar Beura.

In another incident, a doctor was arrested by a team of Bhubaneswar Mahila police station on Saturday on the charges of polygamy. The accused Asish Pattnaik was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by a woman who claims to be the doctor's third wife.

The complainant alleged that Pattnaik is already married to two other women and accused him of cheating.
