Kishanganj: Bihar unit of BJP on Sunday demanded Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resignation over the coal blocks allocation scam, alleging that Singh was responsible for changing the content of the CBI report ahead of its submission to the apex court, as much as former Law Minister Ashwani Kumar.
"The PM must also take the blame for perusal and change of content of the CBI report on the Coalgate at various levels of the government and resign on the same grounds like the former law minister," BJP General Secretary Dharmendar Pradhan told party workers in Kishanganj district.
Pradhan alleged that the Prime Minister was equally responsible for changing the content of the CBI report on Coalgate, demanding Singh's resignation on the same grounds on which Kumar demitted office three days back.
"Singh cannot wash off his hands from the latest controversy on the Coalgate issue by taking resignation of the law minister and must take the moral responsibility and go," he said.
Senior BJP leader and the Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi alleged that the PM was the weakest of all persons who held this august post so far, and said that only NDA could provide a strong PM as it had many powerful leaders.
Referring to the Chinese incursion of Indian territory recently, Modi said that the Centre could have given a befitting reply to China, but a strong PM was needed for that.
"It is due to a weak PM being at the helm of the affairs that our borders are not safe anymore," he said.
