3 bikers run over by speeding truck in Odisha’s Bhadrak

A speeding truck ran over three bikers in front of a private Engineering College in Ranital, Bhadrak. Two of them were crushed to death on the spot while the third person breathed his last at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).

The driver has been absconding after the tragic incident, reports said.

The incident occurred when the truck was en route to Balasore. The three persons on a bike were going to their village from Bhadrak when the speeding truck ran over them near the engineering college. It was alleged that the accident occurred due to heavy rainfall in Bhadrak.

There was a heavy downpour in Bhadrak today morning and as the truck was over-speeding, it caused the mishap, locals alleged. The engineering college square has turned accident-prone as another man was killed in a similar incident in the same spot recently.

On being informed, local police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to the DHH for autopsy. A case has been registered in this connection and a manhunt was launched to nab the absconding truck driver.

Meanwhile, the identity of the three deceased youths could not be ascertained during the filing of this report. No comments could be obtained from the family members of the deceased.
