Ayodhya:VHP leader Pravin Togadia was today arrested after he defied prohibitory orders in the town as the saffron outfit symbolically inaugurated its controversial yatra banned by the Uttar Pradesh government.
 
Togadia, who was arrested from Golaghat area here, said demonstrations would be staged all over the country tomorrow against the ban on the religious yatra.
 
"This is not a political yatra but a religious one and ban or oppression resorted to by the government would not be tolerated at any cost", Togadia told reporters.
 
"This movement would reach each and every village of the country and tomorrow protest dharnas would be staged at district headquarters all over the country", he said.
 
Earlier Nritya Gopal Das of Ram Janmbhoomi symbolically inaugurated the yatra by walking ten steps outside his temple before he was detained.
 
Commissioner Faizabad, Sanjay Prasad, said that there is peace and calm all over and so far 125 persons including Togadia and Ram Vilas Vendanti have been arrested.
